Looking at our interactive map one can see that Eretz Yisrael is divided into four distinct topographic areas. Going from West to East, we can identify them as (A), the flat coastal plain, with altitudes reaching about 300 feet above sea level, (B), the low lying hills or Shefela, here the altitude reaches between 900 - 1100 feet above sea level, (C), the Har, or mountain range. This elongated range extends North to South from the Galilee to the Negev reaching altitudes up to 3,000 feet above Sea level! (4), the Dead Sea valley, this, the lowest place on Earth, above water, is located at 1,300 feet BELOW sea level. In addition, our map shows you the Golan Heights, a flat plateau, bordered to the North by Mt. Hermon, the tallest mountain in Israel at over 6,600 feet above sea level.
